Series/Episode: Cowboy Bebop / Session #18 Character/s: Spike Spiegel Description: Sequence B16 w/Matching Laser Copy Background Origin: Mandarake Comments: YEAH! XD~~~ THE BETA TAPE EPISODE! I'd pondered the idea of getting a cel from this episode for awhile, but I wasn't sure of what or where I'd find a cel from the episode that I liked. Then I saw this... and I just had to have it. The look on Spike's face as he gets his first glimpse of a Beta cassette tape is absolutely *priceless*. It reminds me of the face I must've made when *I* first saw one of those things! This cel is just too cute and captures a humorous and memorable moment in the show.
Scene Info: In this episode a package comes in the mail with a very out-dated video tape containing footage of Faye as a child which reveals Faye's past. In this scene, Spike is first taking out the Beta tape, which is of course way obsolete in the year 2071. (Hell, it's way obsolete now, ya know. ^^)
