| Ayashi no Ceres is another fabulous work by my favorite manga artist, Yuu Watase. Although Fushigi Yuugi remains my favorite anime, Ayashi has taken it's place as my favorite manga. It's darkness and romance are different from Fushigi Yuugi. Very different. I've yet to see all of the anime, but what I've seen I find interesting because I can compare it to the manga. I don't think you can really appreciate the AnC anime so much if you HAVEN'T read the manga, because it's basically "Ayashi no Ceres in a Nutshell". There's lots of great stuff that was edited out to get all 14 volumes squished into 24 episodes. It's a good watch, but nowhere near as well as adapted as Fushigi Yuugi was... nevertheless, some of the cels have great artwork, and I'd like to acquire a good shot of each of AnC's wonderful characters someday. My favorites, however, are the tennyo characters (Ceres, Chidori, Shuro) and Yuuhi. |
