After the manga, the anime series Kaikan Phrase started, which aired on Tuesdays on TV Tokyo. I saw my first episode of Kaikan Phrase when I visited Japan for the first time. It must have been a Tuesday. ^o^;!
So what's it about? - Kaikan Phrase (which is literally 'Ecstasy Phrase') is about a J-Rock group called Lucifer. The leading man in this story is named Sakuya, who is the lead singer of this particular band. The leading man (like he is supposed to do in all traditional shoujo romances) falls in love with the leading lady, whose name happens to be Aine. Sakuya happens to notice some song lyrics that Aine has written and thinks they are perfect for his band (This song is 'C no Binetsu'), thus Aine becomes Lucifer's official songwriter. Da-da! Stuff happens!
The Anime VS. The Manga - Anyone acquainted with Kaikan Phrase knows that the manga and the anime have some DRASTIC differences. The manga focuses on Sakuya's relationship with Aine (sex, sex and more sex?) while the anime focuses more on the band and their career, etc. The manga is major shoujo and filled with a steady supply of smut, whilst the anime.. is.. well... let's just say I prefer it over the manga. ^^;;; But that's just me! I'm sure someone out there enjoys the manga over the anime. o_o;

I like Emily's comment that Kaikan runs in the footsteps of Weiss Kreuz. It's pure shoujo goodness that features lots of cute guys. Not only are these guys bishounen, but they can sing. What a surprise. Oh, and did I mention Koyasu Takehito-sama (my seiyuu god of all gods!) sings some songs for the drama album as Sakuya? *drools* Maybe I will slip the files on this site later on.. if I'm feeling extra nice. :)
